No Guilt?
Are companies putting people into POVERTY and cashing in on the POVERTY GRIFT?
It’s happening all over South Dakota.
We bring the economy to full employment.
We encourage companies (often with tax handouts) to create LOW WAGE jobs.
No South Dakotan wants these jobs because it is impossible to support himself or herself on the wages, much less a family.
We allow (encourage) these companies to fill the jobs with “temporary” or refugee workers that are willing to work well below the market wage.
Visa restrictions (yes, most of them are here legally) often make it impossible for these temporary workers (many of whom have quasi-permanent status) to change jobs (or work multiple jobs), so they are basically indentured servants.
Since the wages are below a living wage, we force the citizens of South Dakota to pay the rest of their wage (through social programs, often through benefits to their children), so the indentured servants and their families can survive.
Then there is the child incentive. If these indentured servants have children, the children are immediately U.S. citizens which means taxpayer funded benefits increase. Since these people are being paid very low wages, there is a strong incentive for these workers to have children once they arrive in the U.S. so their income increases.
The final straw is the wage suppression. When there are people willing to work for below market wages it lowers wages for everyone, including citizens.
Let that sink in for a minute. 🤔
We are allowing companies to bring people and their families (average size 4.5 people) to South Dakota and put them into poverty. Then we are making the citizens cover a percentage of their food, housing, and medical care. Also, there is an incentive for them to have more children when they arrive in the U.S. (to get additional taxpayer funded benefits and be on a track toward citizenship) which often compounds the poverty problem and adds an additional load to the public schools.
Companies like Sanford, Tyson Foods (Dakota Dunes), 3-M, Ramkota, Avera, Smithfield, and Schwan’s love it because citizens pay part of their labor costs. Think about that for a minute. 🤔 How is that ethical or reasonable?
It appears that we are forcing the citizens of South Dakota to support modern day INDENTURED SERVITUDE (a form of slavery).
Then in what appears to be an attempt to “keep up appearances”, the companies involved in the indentured servitude pay (using a small percentage of the money they “grifted” from the citizens to lower their labor costs) for swimming pools, recreation centers, zoos, etc. Then, they take some of the “grifted” money and hand it out to organizations like the YMCA, so they can keep the kids entertained (and from committing crimes) while the parent works in their indentured servant assignment.
Are these donations part of a charade to keep us thinking these companies are good citizens?
To add insult to injury and more financial pain for everyone, the cities use taxpayer money to supplement what the companies “donate”, saying it’s necessary for community well being. Not surprisingly, with the “manufactured poverty” the citizens see higher taxes for the extra infrastructure to support the indentured servants. The ever increasing tax and fee load combined with wage suppression that comes with importing labor that is willing to work below market wages pushes citizens toward poverty.
Now we have a POVERTY SPIRAL.
So poverty MUST NOT be a natural outcome of growth.
But appears to be a natural outcome of GRIFT.
If you are in management at one of the companies that employs these indentured servants or work for one of the “economic development” organizations that is working hard to create this low wage hardship have you: 1) been to the overcrowded homes where these people live (it should be a weekly requirement)? Have you talked with the workers and their families in their homes (not in the workplace, a soup kitchen, or some other sanitized place)? Have you walked their neighborhoods? Have you talked with citizens who no longer have jobs that support them and their families and are begging for low income housing? Have you openly admitted to the citizens who are crying out for tax relief what is going on?
Most importantly, what does your conscience tell you?

"So poverty MUST NOT be a natural outcome of growth.
But appears to be a natural outcome of GRIFT."
200 proof straight insight right there.
Make up your mind, are we spending our way into poverty by helping the businesses that create jobs and increase the tax base by passing out all this imaginary tax money as if it was the millions wasted on social welfare, or are all the foreigners taking all the jobs. You cannot have both, stop the hypocrisy, pick one and stay with it.
Are you trying to get back to the lie about the State making a contract with a company for a good or service being corporate welfare? That is not welfare and never has been, it is a trade.
Then stop your endless hypocrisy of complaining about these imaginary tax handouts to businesses that create jobs while not screaming about the millions wasted on social welfare so other wise healthy humans can sit and just suck up our tax dollars. That is an investment we cannot continue to afford because there is not return. Yet not one word from you.
A private person, private business or corporation that gets to keep more of the money it earned via lower taxes is not a handout. Any government taking anything more than absolutely needed is codified theft. The worst government theft of all is socialist style redistribution of wealth and labeling it with the lie that it is welfare is the worst of them. The next worst is the unfunded government mandate forcing business to pay wages that are not earned and calling it a minimum wage. The mandate that puts more unearned money into the economy, in turn devaluing that money and forcing prices to go up for everyone.
Did you realize that a tax incentive is not a hand out? Trying to make a tax incentive look like a tax handout for the evil businesses that create the jobs and support the tax base is dis-information, actually a mis-leading manipulative lie.
How about exposing the corruption of the communist Chinese spending millions on a dis-information campaign to stop the US from investing in Data farms. It is happening right here in South Dakota, that is a real scandal, not a made up one sides story designed to manipulate.
Well, what is your solution? It is your made up laundry list. How do you fix it? What are the parts that work? without including the parts that work so people can make up their own monds, you are attempting to manipulate again.
