Steven King talks of sugar and additives in our food. Sugar is like a drug and it does alter the brain. I have given up sugar and try to eat clean foods. Amazed at how clear my throught process is. Sugar and salt are added to food to help create a food craving and it works...... I used to take care of a young boy with Aspergers which is in the Autism Spectrum disorder. It was hard to control him, very active and very little speech and no eye contact. After he was diagnosed his mother refused to put him on medication and after a lot of research decided to change his diet. Everything was organic, no wheat, no dairy. After a week he was like a different child. Still active but like a 7 year old should be. He was enrolled in a special school for Autistic children and soon would communicate and there was eye contact...... So, what they are doing to our food is very scary. Just eliminate added sugar and see how great you feel. Sugar in our fruits and veggies is great, it's the added sugar that's a killer. Same with salt. it's added to enhance the flavor and another killer, literally. If you can't pronounce all the ingredients simply don't eat it.

Unfortunately this is all too true. One way I deal with it is to understand I don’t just consume with my mouth, but also my ears and eyes. Nature is a place I spend a lot of time, and while the blood pressure builds in society, the songbirds, wind whispers and vast expanses go on and on. Nature heals me, teaches wonderful lessons and reminds you of who you are and where you belong.
